Department of Prosthodontics It was established together with the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University on May 14, 2522. Its main duty is to provide education for undergraduate students in the knowledge of prosthetic dentistry, such as various types of dentures and dental materials, etc., which includes both theory and practice. In the past, the department offered graduate programs, including the Graduate Diploma Program in Prosthetic Dentistry, the Master of Science Program, and the Master of Science Program (International Program). The first batch of students was accepted in the academic year 2545. Later, the department offered a resident training program in prosthetic dentistry. Currently, the department offers two graduate programs: the Master of Science Program in Prosthodontic (International Program) and the resident training program in prosthetic dentistry. Students can register for both programs at the same time. In addition to teaching, the department’s lecturers also provide medical care services in the prosthetic dentistry clinic, providing complex prosthetic dentistry services, such as treating patients with facial and jaw disabilities, as well as patients who need to be treated with dental implants to support various types of dentures. This is done in collaboration with other relevant units both inside and outside the faculty. Currently, the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry There are 2 professors in total, with Asst. Prof. Watcharin Howichit as the head of the prosthetic dentistry department.
Progress-Pride
- Established two graduate programs: the Master of Science Program in Prosthodontics (International Program) and the Prosthetic Dentistry Residency Training Program, in which students can enroll in both programs simultaneously.
- Established the only facial and jaw rehabilitation unit in the Northeast to treat patients with facial and jaw prostheses, such as artificial ears and eyes.
